Christmas is over...

Does the sight of Christmas decorations after Christmas is finally over sicken everyone else like it does me? Well, maybe it's the stomach virus talking.

Thank God, I'm just about over a bout with the stomach virus and am finally starting to be able to sit up without wanting to puke or fall over. I hope that everyone had a blessed and Merry Christmas and are looking forward to a joyous and Happy New Year!!

Merry Darmas?

This was just too funny (and depressingly true) to pass up cross-posting. Ray is one of the best guys at putting atheists in their place that I know of!

Merry Darmas! I suppose we know what the atheist Xmas gang is going to fill in their X with!

I just noticed what's on top of the tree! That's too funny!!

Merry What-Mas?

Does it tick anybody else off as bad as it does me when people use Merry Xmas!?  I mean, how lazy, do you have to be to not type 5 more characters?  It's probably not even the laziness factor, it's the fact that our society is so anti-Christian and pro-anything but Christianity that they want to do away with every semblance of Christ!

Sorry, I just needed to rant as I just received yet another blog post with Xmas.  I'm going to start shortening people's names with X and see how they like it.
Here's my new conversation with my friend Bob Smith who uses Xmas...

"Hey, XSmith!"

"Hey....Scott.  What's up with the X stuff?"

"Oh, I got your email the other day and you didn't bother referencing Christ in Christmas so I thought I'd see how you liked it.  You know, the whole refusing to mention your name thing."

"Really?  I don't particularly like that.  Can you please use my name when talking to me and referring to me to others?"

"Well, X (can I call you X for short?) it's my way of proving the signficance of leaving someone's name out of a relationship.  Now, I understand that "Christ" is Jesus' position and not his name, per se, but you get the point right?"

"Yeah, I guess so."

Needless to say, Bob did not like me NOT using his name when we were talking.  I can't imagine Jesus likes it when we leave him out of Christmas either!

Merry CHRISTmas and Happy Birthday JESUS!

Homemade De-icer

Ice Age soon by mikelensWho knew? Well, I suppose plenty of you frugal'ers out there did. It was news to me.

This winter, try mixing water, alcohol, and dishwashing soap together for your own homemade de-icer. Fill a spray bottle with a 50-50 mix of water and alcohol with just a few drops of dishwashing soap. You can spray this on in climates where the temperature is just below freezing and it’ll work even better than the straight alcohol. Got this from The Simple Dollar blog.

Good blog. Lots of good ideas and principles for frugal living.

Adobe to the MAX!

Well, I'm back from Adobe MAX 2008 in San Francisco! It was a great time and we saw a bunch of technology!  I went to lots of useful sessions and some that my kids could have taught [better].  All-in-all a good trip.  One of the my highlights had nothing to do with Adobe at all other than they paid the bill! :-)  The "customer appreciation event" at the Academy of Science and de Young Museum was a blast!  I'd love to take the family back sometime.  We only had a couple of hours but it was a spectacular place--highly recommended.  It must have been the whole Pacific-coast thing but I saw fish/animals in the aquarium that I had never seen before in all the East coast aquariums I have been to.

I'll have pictures uploaded to my picasa web site later this weekend.

Appreciate what you have

Here's a post from one of the blogs I like to read...goes along very well with Pastor Jim's message this past Sunday night. We should all be thankful for the many blessings that God has bestowed on us.
